Comic Relief

On Thursday 14th and Friday 15th March 2019, Student Voice at Outwood Academy Portland held and organised a bake sale to raise money for Comic Relief. Staff and students brought in cakes of all shapes and sizes to sell at break time. A bucket was taken around the dining hall for anyone willing to make a donation for a great cause. Staff were also encouraged to wear red on the Friday 15th March and make a donation to the bucket with Mr Dye wearing an eye catching red sequined waistcoat.

The week before had seen the introduction of the Portland joke competition as a nod to the 'Comic' part of the charity. The winning joke was from the VMG Austria with:

"If two vegetarians have an argument, do you still call it beef?"

Hilarious, I'm sure you'll agree.

After a count by the adept team in finance, the total money raised for Comic Relief was £174.40.

Thanks to all who contributed with cakes or donations.
