Careers Advice


Careers at Outwood Academy Portland will support you to acquire the educational, social and employability skills necessary for lifelong success in a diverse and changing world of work.

Mr Conyers and Miss Clough is the lead contact on Careers and the Academy works in partnership with CareersInc, an external, independent and impartial careers guidance service based in school Tuesdays and Thursdays.

CareersInc can help with all aspects of careers and choices for the future including sixth form, college, apprenticeships, university, funding, scholarships and vocational routes.

They will also support students with CVs and applications.

Students will be supported in a number of ways including:

  • Careers lessons and assemblies
  • Access to career advisers including individual meetings and drop-in sessions
  • Careers information and IT based careers programmes
  • Information on noticeboards, plasma screens and websites
  • Monthly enrichment sessions with employers
